Basic Information

We will be taking the Ferry from Orient Point. We will meet
there to assemble and load gear. At the end of the week
we will take the Ferry from New London, Connecticut back to NY.
NOTE: ALL SCOUTS MUST WEAR THEIR UNIFORMS TO THE FERRY.

REMEMBER THAT IN ALL ACTIVITIES INCLUDING MERIT BADGES, REQUIRE THE
USE OF THE BUDDY SYSTEM. ALL SCOUTS MUST BE AT THE SITE 15 MINUTES
PRIOR TO EACH MEAL.
Sleeping Arrangements

We will be sleeping on cots in platform tents. Each tent can
hold up to 4 people. This is the only campout that will allow
scouts to choose who they will sleep with.
Meals

Yawgoog offers and cooks all meals. For each meal there is one
waiter needed per table. Each waiter must arrive 15 minutes early to
each meal to set up, and stay 15 minutes late to clean up. A
schedule will be made and posted in our campsite. For snacks and
drinks between meals, there are trading posts open. The trading
posts also sell souvenirs and equipment. The only rule Yawgoog has
concerning meals is that all scouts must wear their uniform to dinner.
Merit Badges

Yawgoog offers many merit badges. All 1st year scouts will
complete Basketry, Leatherwork, Metalwork, and Woodcarving. They are
easy and fun badges in which you will make useful items. Older
scouts will have the benefit of choosing their badges. PLAN YOUR
TIME WISELY. Do not overwork yourselves, but don't give yourself too
much free time.
